中文系：
中文语言文学是1929cc威尼斯发展最快的的学科之一。近年来，学校在在师资队伍建设和学科发展方面加大对中文学科的支持力度，使得中文系在教学、科研和学科建设等方面都取得了长足的进展，形成了学科结构完整、师资队伍整齐、教学体制完备、学风严谨开放的良好态势。
本系拥有一支高职称、高学历、高素质的学术队伍。现有教师25人，其中教授、副教授19人，占教师队伍的78%，拥有博士学位的教师占80%。本学科队伍年富力强，结构合理，有较强的科研创新实力，近五年来共承担国家社科基金项目8 项，其他国家级项目7项，省部级项目18项。获省部级以上政府社科优秀成果奖10余项。
在本科生培养已经具有相当积累和成就的基础上，中文专业立足于研究生教育的发展，致力于培养高层次语言文学人才。目前已经已获批中国语言文学博士学位授予权，拥有“比较文学与世界文学”省级重点学科，在中国现当代文学、译介学、汉语言文字学、中国古典文献学、文艺学等方面也具有相当的学术优势与特色。中文专业一级学科硕士学位点有8个二级学科，16个研究方向，致力于建立由本科、硕士、博士阶段相联系的完备的高层次人才培养体系。
Department of Chinese Language and Literature：
As one that develop the fastest in Southwest Jiaotong University, the Department of Chinese Language and Literature has in recent years the full support from the University in the recruitment of staff and development of disciplines, which in turn result in the great progress of the Department in terms of academic achievement. The Department now assembles a body of intelligent and creative faculty and offers a complete range of programs.
The majority of the faculty are in possession of senior professional titles. There are 25 full-time faculty members, 19 of them are professors and associate professors, accounting for 78% of the total, and the ones with Ph. D. degrees account for 80% of the total. With strong expertise and competence in research and academic fields, the faculty have in the past five years implemented 8 national science foundation projects, 7 other national projects, and 18 projects on the provincial level, and have received over 10 provincial and ministerial level awards or above for their excellent academic achievements and performances.
The Department concentrates on the development of postgraduate programs and offers high level graduate study programs based on experience and achievements obtained in undergraduate programs. The Discipline of Chinese Language and Literature has the right to confer Ph. D. degrees, the one of Comparative Literature and World literature is named the Important Discipline of the Province, and other disciplines like Chinese Modern and Contemporary Literature, Translation Studies, Chinese Philology, Chinese Classic Philology, Theory of Literature and Art etc all enjoy high reputation in their respective academic fields. There are 8 Second Grade Disciplines under the First Grade Discipline of Chinese Language and Literature with 16 different programs presented to undergraduate and graduate students in pursuit of the different level of degrees like B. A., M.A., and Ph. D.
